United Methodist Church of Vista is seeking a flexible, relational, mission-driven leader to strengthen community life, support church operations, and help build sustainable ministry for the future. This role is adaptable—we are open to shaping the scope based on the strengths, calling, and capacity of the right candidate. We understand that it’s rare to find someone who can do all of these things well and there are probably folks out there who can contribute in meaningful ways that we haven’t thought to put into this job description.
We’re open to negotiation for the right candidate.
- Option A — Full-Time Exempt (40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities (to be negotiated)
Children’s Ministry Leadership
- Oversee children’s and families ministries
- Coordinate and support volunteers for our children’s programs
- Coordinate and supervise our nursery staff
- Create engaging opportunities for children and families across the church
- Build relationships that root families in the life of the church
- Ensure safety practices and aid in training volunteers and staff as needed
- Support programs, events, and fundraisers.
- Collaborate across ministries and assist with community outreach.
- Aid in plans for sustainable ministry across the church.
- Work with volunteers and committees to help execute events.
- Assist with content creation and scheduling.
- Help maintain an updated, user-friendly website.
- Assist with branding, flyers, announcements, etc.
- Provide administrative support to Senior Pastor and staff.
- Maintain systems, calendars, and records.
- Support workflow improvement across ministries.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, work with vendors, and aid in high level church administration.
- Compassionate, grounded presence; excellent interpersonal communication.
- Strong de-escalation skills and conflict navigation.
- Collaborative, flexible, and adaptive.
- Creative problem-solving and willingness to learn.
- Strong organization and digital fluency.
- Experience in ministry, nonprofit, education, or community engagement preferred.
- Ability to supervise volunteers or staff.
- A call to serve others.
- Creativity and imagination for new ministry approaches.

- Salary range: $50,000–$71,000
