Community Programs Coordinator
St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB)
- Oversee and serve as the St. Louis Area Foodbank's on-site point of contact for Food on the Move and Food Access and Resource Market distributions, including logistics and volunteer support.
- Manage food inventory through the creation and building of orders in the Foodbank's inventory system.
- Be the backup driver for the 32-ft FOTM Trailer and Ford F450 Towing Vehicle.
- Monitor, collect, and enter all data from recipients for necessary reports.
- Support the gathering of data and stories to reinforce philanthropic and marketing efforts to ensure program models are resourced appropriately.
- Maintain food safety and EHS guidelines for food distribution.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of the success of all Food on the Move distributions.
- Assist in executing and updating annual department work plan, including budgets, calendars, goals, and tasks.
- Fulfilling operational tasks as related to program operations such as warehouse equipment, order pulling systems, and cardboard compactor.
- Partner with other program team members to incorporate SNAP outreach and nutritional elements in FOTM distributions.
- Partner with product acquisition, the warehouse, repackaging center, and drivers to ensure proper quantities of food and resources are available for each distribution.
- Provide an excellent neighbor experience. Addressing client and community concerns as it relates to direct distributions.
- Serve as support for the Equitable Access Supervisor and other Foodbank programs as needed.
- Assist foodbank staff, volunteers, interns and Ameri Corps members with direction and support.
- Attend program-related training conferences and workshops as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to learn to set up and drive a 32-ft trailer is required.
- Willingness to learn to use a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Prior experience is a plus.
- 1 - 5 years previous experience in program management with partners and volunteers of varying socio-economic backgrounds for a non-profit organization strongly preferred.
- Prior non-profit experience desired.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to become Serv Safe certified.
- Demonstrated success working with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues.
- Passion for the Foodbank mission and the ability to demonstrate SLAFB's Core Values:
Stewardship, Teamwork, Agility and Respect. - Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other web-based applications.
- Experience with or the ability to quickly learn Tableau or other mapping software required.
- Ability to think strategically while acting tactically.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance and be willing to travel within the St. Louis Area Foodbank's 26 County Territory.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check.
Tuesday-Saturday full-time. Work is performed onsite at the SLAFB facility as well as in the community. Occasional additional weekend or evening hours may be required based on business needs.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) supports 26 counties - 14 in Missouri and 12 in Illinois - serving a diverse group of stakeholders across our region. The Foodbank collects food from manufacturers, retail stores, farmers, and individual donors. That food is safely stored, sorted, repackaged, and distributed to agencies and programs that work directly with people in the community. The Foodbank facilitates the movement of food safely and efficiently and offers resources and support to partner agencies that a single food pantry or shelter could not hope to access on its own.
