Nutrition Program Assistant - EFNEP - Kansas City at Lincoln University of Missouri

This role supports educating clients on healthy eating and nutrition and is focused on outreach, recruitment, and program delivery.

• Instruct clients in nutrition education.
• Engage in recruitment of clients such as those with limited resources, youth, families with children, pregnant women, and grandparents raising grandchildren.
• Coordinate with collaborating agencies to extend program outreach to eligible clients.
• Recruit, train, and utilize volunteers to assist in program marketing, data collection, program delivery, and reporting to the national database.
• Participate in health fairs and other community events.
• Establish and meet program standards for performance and positive impacts.

• The Nutrition Program Assistant works directly with the extension specialist and participates in community outreach to promote/encourage program involvement for eligible clients and complete required training and development opportunities as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree related to health education preferred.
• Two years of experience working with limited-resource persons required.

• Knowledge of community and social service programs for limited-resource families.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable personal transportation with liability insurance in effect is required and maintained throughout employment.
• Ability to travel throughout service area.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• May require extensive standing or walking.
• Should be able to move or lift objects weighing 20–50 pounds.
