Overview
The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System - Public Health is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse II - III to join our team in Palm Springs/Indio to provide vital services in tuberculosis (TB) case management. This position involves making home visits for case management and contact investigations, assisting with disease outbreak surveillance, providing TB screenings, and educating individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis.
A valid CA driver license is required.
- Conduct home visits as needed for TB case management and contact investigations.
- Assist with surveillance activities related to disease outbreaks, including administering assessments of side effects.
- Work within the TB clinic to perform TB screening as assigned.
- Provide patient education, monitor, and manage individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis.
- Selected candidates will be working with patients who are infectious; appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is provided.

Licenses and Certificates- Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Registered Nurse II
Education:
Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.
Experience:
One year as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, mental health setting, clinic outpatient setting, or healthcare agency program. Experience gained as an Interim Permit Nurse may be credited toward meeting the required experience. Evaluations and references must show proficiency of practice as a Registered Nurse.
Registered Nurse III
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor s degree in nursing or health-related field or current and valid national certification in nursing or health-related field.
Experience:
Three years of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility, mental health facility, or community health agency with references and evaluations to show appropriate skill level. A bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or national certification in a nursing specialty may be considered as a substitution for one year of the required experience.
A master s degree may be considered as a substitution for two years of the required experience.
