Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Clinical Instructor of Medicine; Part-Time

Overview

The University of Southern California (USC) invites applications for a PART-TIME Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant clinical instructor position in the Division of Medical Oncology supporting survivorship programs. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the NP/PA performs physical examinations and treats common episodic and chronic health care problems, counsels patients and families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects.

The NP/PA works in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and an interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice. This position will be hired as a clinical instructor. The NP/PA will work with several oncologists (Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, etc.)

at the Keck Medical Center of USC and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles, CA.

• Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, perform physical examinations and treat common episodic and chronic health care problems.
• Counsel patients and families, monitor patient progress, and assist with clinical research projects.
• Collaborate with other health care team members, consult and refer as appropriate, and retain responsibility for ongoing clinical management of oncology patients.

• For NP candidates: current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical skills and interest in serving a diverse patient population in both private and public clinical practice.
• The position is a PRACTITIONER position and you will not be teaching NP or PA students.

• Annual base salary range: $76,440 - $. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
