RN Charge Nurse
SSM Health is looking for an RN Charge Nurse to lead the Pediatric Nursing unit, ensuring high‑quality patient care and effective staffing across a full‑time 0800‑1630 shift.
Job SummaryProvides leadership and coordination of unit staffing while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements Primary Responsibilities- Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during the assigned shift, and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate patient care.
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers to achieve quality outcomes.
- Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting desired outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels.
- Provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing and evaluating staff.
- Maintain alertness and safe work practices at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
- One year of registered nurse experience.
- Constant use of speech, standing, walking, frequent lifting 0‑25 lbs, frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, vision, hearing, odor detection, and driving.
- Occasional lifting 25‑50 lbs, patient moving, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and other repetitive motions.
- Illinois – BLS HCP (AHA) and RN – IDFPR.
- Missouri – BLS HCP (AHA) and RN – Missouri Division of Professional Registration, or RN issued by Compact State.
- Oklahoma – BLS HCP (AHA) and RN issued by Compact State or RN – Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Wisconsin – BLS HCP (AHA) and RN issued by Compact State or RN – Wisconsin Dept. of Safety and Professional Services.
