American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a current MO or compact license, at least 2 years of recent specialty experience, and night shift availability.
Job Details
• Work in an acute care hospital operating room with a 74-bed facility,
• Assignment is 13 weeks in length on night shift (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15),
• Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities within scope,
• Patient ratios are 1:1 across days, nights, and weekends,
• Weekend requirement is 8 shifts in a 6-week schedule, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
• Holiday and Charge RN assignments may be assigned as needed,
• Ambulatory OR, general OR, pediatric general OR, and trauma cases included,
• Covers a wide range of procedures in gynecology, plastics, trauma, orthopedics, general surgery, endoscopy, urology, robotics, and ENT,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Scrub color required is navy,
Job Requirements
• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration; both Kansas and Missouri licenses may be required for floating,
• Minimum of 2 years recent specialty experience, with at least 1 full year in the past 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the last year,
• Certifications required: ABLS; certifications preferred: CNOR, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS,
• Proficient in a wide range of OR nursing skills, including blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, infection control, and robotic-assisted procedures,
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred,
• Two recent professional references required, with at least one supervisor-level or above and both from the past year,
• Must be able to be on-call for one weekend every six weeks and one night per week,
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted,
• Pending licenses are not accepted,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include assisting with comprehensive OR procedures in multiple specialties, specimen management, scrub and circulating duties, and adherence to safety protocols,
• Must be comfortable with floating between units and facilities as needed,
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role,
• RTO (Requested Time Off) is limited to 7 days per contract,
• No travel partners are allowed,
• Free parking is available onsite,
• Drug screening is required; positive or diluted results not cleared by MRO will require a 6-month wait before reapplying,
• Completion of onboarding modules is required pre-start and annually,
• Facility may offer the position without an interview,
