Overview
A Louisiana hospital is seeking an experienced acute care pediatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant for ongoing locum tenens coverage in the cardiac ICU. This role includes both AM and PM 12-hour shifts, with providers managing 8–10 patients per shift. You’ll work alongside 1–2 advanced practice providers and an attending physician on-site 24/7. This is a hands-on role involving procedures, prescribing, and care for ECMO patients (no transplant cases).
Responsibilities- Provide hands-on care in the cardiac ICU for pediatric patients, including procedures and prescribing per scope of practice.
- Manage 8–10 patients per shift across 12-hour AM and PM shifts.
- Collaborate with 1–2 advanced practice providers and an attending physician on-site 24/7.
- Care for ECMO patients (no transplant cases).
- Candidate must have prior cardiac ICU experience.
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification is required for NP candidates.
- ACLS is preferred but not required.
- Position located in Louisiana.
