Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Hematology/Oncology RN with 2+ years of oncology experience and active MO or compact RN licensure for a day-shift clinic role.

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, infusions, and port access/management
• Experience with central line, implanted line, and PICC line care
• Skilled in symptom management for oncology-related conditions (nausea, neuropathy, edema, dysphagia, altered mental status)
• Experience administering antineoplastic, antiemetic, and corticosteroid medications
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including sepsis recognition
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses (breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and others)
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

• Outpatient Hematology Oncology clinic setting
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• No call, no holidays, and no weekends required
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required
• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration
• Coordinate care and recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
• Support patients and families with psychosocial care, advanced directives, and hospice needs
• Apply isolation precautions, PPE, and neutropenic precautions as needed
• All requested RTO must be submitted and approved at time of contract initiation
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
