Farm Tech

STATUS: Full-Time, 40/week
DEPARTMENT: Agriculture/Farm
REPORTS TO: Farm Manager
SALARY RANGE: $17/hr DOE
CLOSES: Open Until Filled

• Assist Farm Manager in providing oversight for the Tribe’s farm program including all farm acres, facilities, machinery, and cropping systems.
• Assist the Farm Manager in assuring the establishment and sustainability of farmlands and farm system including associated woodlands, wildlife, recreation, water, and miscellaneous use areas of the Farm.
• Assist Farm Manager in irrigation procedures and crop maintenance, including propagation and transplanting, etc.
• Assist Farm Manager in implementing field operations.
• Operate irrigation system, including assembly/disassembly, moving, installing, and maintenance of irrigation pipe at direction of manager.
• Operate and maintain pump.
• Operate and maintain agricultural equipment.
• Install and repair fences as needed.
• Assist in record keeping as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have a high school diploma/GED.
• Experience with pumps and motors.
• Experience working with water distribution systems.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Reliable, willingness to follow directions.
• Basic understanding in hydraulics.

• Adhere to Drug-Free Workplace Policy – Pre-employment testing required.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn farming, cropping, hydraulics, and all organic traditional farming.
• Able to work on a flexible schedule (including weekends, evenings, and split work days where applicable).
• Possess a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
