Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00/hour
Required License/Certification: Valid California Driver’s License
Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience

Under general supervision, the Groundskeeper is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the campus grounds, ensuring a safe, attractive, and well-maintained environment.

Grounds Maintenance

Mow, trim, and repair lawns; seed or sod as needed

Plant, transplant, prune, and maintain shrubs, trees, and flower beds

Inspect and chemically treat trees, shrubs, plants, and lawns when instructed

Assist with irrigation system maintenance

Repair and maintain grounds equipment

Safety & Cleanliness

Keep all exterior areas clean, safe, and free of debris

Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift

Follow established safety policies and procedures, including proper use of protective equipment

Report hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor promptly

Follow safe chemical handling procedures

Teamwork & Professional Conduct

Communicate courteously and professionally with co-workers, management, residents, and visitors

Attend departmental meetings and in-service training as directed

Perform other duties as assigned in compliance with policies and procedures

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Basic knowledge of gardening and landscaping maintenance practices

Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks

Self-motivated with sound decision-making abilities

Valid California driver’s license without moving violations
