FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

What is an Occupancy Verification?

• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property with a mobile application.

The majority of inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property have gone vacant.

We contract with inspectors at a county level. This meaning you will be responsible to finish all inspects in your county. If adequate, you will split the county with another inspector when there is enough volume for two inspectors.

• Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
• Complete the inspections in 1-4 days after it assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy using iuss industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Requires being able to spend extended periods of drive while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (android or iphone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.

Pay and Hours

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Although you per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30-40 per hour
.

Depending on a county and whether it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month working 2-30 hours per week. Low volume county have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspection per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
