Real Property Agent III – Acquisitions
The Real Estate Services Department is seeking an experienced Real Property Agent III to lead complex property acquisition negotiations in the Acquisitions Division. The role focuses on negotiating and preparing property acquisitions, overseeing the acquisition process, and mentoring junior agents in real property, appraisals, acquisitions, sales, and relocation services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert property recommendations to county department clients and lead implementation.
- Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and manage contracts for independent contractors delivering professional services.
- Oversee tenant improvement projects, from planning through execution.
- Prepare reports, studies, budget proposals, and analytical documents for real property acquisition and disposition of public projects.
- Lead negotiations for acquisition of commercial, residential, vacant land, and encumbered land, including easements for conservation, flood control, and road right-of-way.
- Expertise in negotiating and acquiring real property for acquisition purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects efficiently, on time, and within budget while prioritizing exceptional customer service.
- Proven leadership experience or potential to develop leadership skills with a strong desire to grow in a leadership role.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Public/Business Administration, or related field.
- Senior Right of Way (SR/WA) designation from the International Right of Way Association and/or experience with public projects and eminent domain matters is highly desirable.
- Education:
30 semester (45 quarter) units in real estate, public/business administration, economics, or closely related field; one additional year of qualifying experience may substitute. - Experience Option 1:
Four full‑time years of professional real estate experience, including private sector commercial real estate and public agency work; must be in mixed use, office, industrial, or retail environment. - Experience Option 2:
Three years as a Real Property Agent II in San Bernardino County or an equivalent higher‑level classification within a public agency.
Salary range: $77,979.20 – $ annually (depends on qualifications). The position offers full benefits.
