Position Summary

Under general direction from the Restaurant Services Supervisor, responsible for providing an excellent first and last impression of the venue to guests and maintaining an efficient and courteous restaurant operation by greeting arriving customers in a friendly manner, seating customers promptly, and collecting payment and giving accurate change according to established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, courteous guest service at all times following the Casino’s guest service standards including proper greeting and farewell.
  • Answer phones and respond to guest requests.
  • Meets arriving customers as they enter restaurant with a cordial greeting.
  • Escorts customers to assigned tables, issues menus and solicits rapport in order to accommodate special needs or requests.
  • Maintains a highly visible appearance in restaurant during entire shift by remaining at the cashier station and periodically circulating through the restaurant in order to assist servers or respond to any customer requests.
  • Assesses the efficiency of the operation and reports to management.
  • Solicits feedback from departing customers on products and services in order to improve the operation efficiencies, increase customer base and maximize revenues.
  • Takes written notes on customer comments and reports to management.
  • Collects payment, operates a cash register and give accurate change to customers as needed.
  • Balances and reconciles computerized and manual reports at the end of each shift in order to present accurate and organized daily business records to the Accounting Department.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Answer questions from customers regarding casino and/or restaurant policies and procedures and special events in the casino or local area attractions.
  • Responds to and resolves customer issues and disputes; contacts supervisor as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and attractive restaurant by assisting with vacuuming, sweeping, general cleaning and side work duties.
  • Checks the proper set-up of tables and seating prior to opening.
  • Reports any maintenance or housekeeping discrepancies to management in a prompt manner.
  • Exhibits a professional appearance and maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Follows guidelines regarding safety and customer service according to established policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Record all transactions in Point of Sale (POS) system. Responsible for correctly handling cash, credit and comp procedures as well as properly completing paperwork.
  • Assist all guests and servers on the floor with Food and Beverage orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist with beverage service as necessary.
  • Keep work area clean and stocked at all times. Prepare area for next shift prior to leaving.
  • Clean tables as needed. Clean menus and refill or replace as necessary.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all menu items offered as well as full utilization ability of all POS equipment.
  • Process to-go orders as necessary and assist with daily catering deliveries.
  • Assist servers, utility porters, and bussers or with catering events to maximize guest service.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required unless waived by Human Resources Management. Six (6) months of cash handling and guest service experience required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to provide excellent guest service is required. Serv Safe certification and Food & Beverage work experience preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
