Starbucks Barista

Overview

Starbucks Barista is positive, independent, and helpful by providing descriptions of menu items, assisting with selection, and ensuring orders are made to specifications. They help make our customer's day a little brighter while handling a variety of responsibilities:

• Welcome customers with a smile and positive attitude
• Help answer customer questions about menu items
• Take orders, input orders into the POS system, obtain payment, and provide change
• Prepare and serve food, coffee, and other beverages
• Ensure orders are made to the customer s specifications.
• Breakdown and disassemble food and beverage equipment, including thorough deep cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, and all areas of the department
• Maintain proper storage of products and portion control

• At least 16 years of age
• Read basic information (ex: company policies, procedures, and drink/food orders)
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
• Basic computer skills
• Listen and communicate from verbal to written instructions
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible to work a varied schedule which includes weekends and holidays
• Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule
• Adherence to our dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards
• Associates in food handling departments are required to receive a Hepatitis A vaccination (MO only)
• No perfume, nail polish, or large jewelry may be worn
• May be cross trained in other departments

• Lifting & Carrying - up to 30 lbs. occasionally
• Pushing & Pulling - up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and put away products
• Must be able to handle cooking utensils, kitchen, and bar equipment
• Occasional work actions - sit, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, climb and overhead reach
• Frequent work actions- head turn, trunk bend, side reach, grasp, power grip, pinch, finger manipulation, and feel
• Constant work actions - forward reach and stand
