Cafeteria Worker
Entry‑level, repetitive meal preparation and service assignments in a school cafeteria. Responsibilities include assembling sandwiches, serving on a meal line, washing pots and pans, heating prepared foods and operating a point‑of‑sale computer terminal.
Responsibilities- Set up the serving line according to the daily menu.
- Wash and cut foodstuffs for cooking.
- Assemble salads and sandwiches.
- Assist a cook/baker with organizing, panning, and setting up food and supplies for site service and transport cabinets.
- Replenish food on the serving line.
- Heat prepared food.
- Count leftover food items and record information.
- Clean up after meals, including washing pots and pans and wiping counters and equipment.
- Operate a point‑of‑sale computer terminal when needed.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including providing change for meals and a la carte purchases.
- Knowledge of
: general food preparation practices and procedures; kitchen utensils and equipment. - Ability to
:- Wash, heat, cut, and assemble foods and ingredients.
- Follow applicable health and sanitation requirements.
- Perform work efficiently during rush conditions.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Operate a point‑of‑sale computer terminal.
- Do simple arithmetic and count.
- Work cooperatively with others.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

Written and oral proficiency in a second language.
All positions are part‑time, 9.25 months per year, ranging from 3 to 3.5 hours per day. Temporary/as‑needed positions are paid at the first step of the salary range; permanent positions may offer salary increases.
