Role OverviewWe’re looking for a Sales & Merchandising Assistant to support our sales and merchandising teams in driving business performance and maintaining strong retail partnerships. This role sits at the crossroads of sales analysis, trend research, and seasonal assortment planning, while supporting buying meetings and ensuring seamless execution across Sales, Merchandising, Design/Product Development, and Production.
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on opportunity for someone who is analytically minded, trend‑aware, and highly organized—ideal for candidates looking to grow within merchandising, sales, or product strategy at a dynamic fashion company.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and seasonal sales recaps, including hindsight and weekly business reports (best and toughest performers), in collaboration with merchandising teams from retail partners.
- Monitor weekly sales reports to identify replenishment opportunities, style updates, and performance trends.
- Translate sales insights into clear, actionable recommendations for design and merchandising teams.
Trend Research & Market Analysis
- Conduct ongoing trend research through market data, competitive brand analysis, retail floors, and emerging fashion trends.
- Present trend insights to support seasonal assortment planning and product direction.
- Align trend research with sales performance and retail feedback.
Retail Partner Support
- Maintain strong relationships with buying partners through timely, professional communication.
- Support fast‑paced requests for images, samples, line sheets, and open‑to‑buy (OTB) recaps.
- Attend weekly buying and planning meetings with buyers and document key takeaways and action items.
Merchandising & Assortment Planning
- Support assortment planning through analysis of sales performance, inventory levels, and turnover.
- Contribute strategic ideas by studying market flow, trends, and product performance.
- Assist with sales presentations and merchandising materials.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Design/Product Development and Production teams to ensure smooth product flow.
- Support fabric buying and sourcing by translating sales performance and merchandising strategies into clear direction for vendors, while assisting with order coordination to align with seasonal assortment plans.
- Support basic logistics and order coordination as needed.
- Obsessed with fashion, trends, and what’s actually selling.
- Love turning data into visuals, stories, and smart product ideas.
- Highly organized and energized by fast‑paced environments.
- Confident presenting ideas, decks, recaps, and insights.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership and execution.
- Curious, proactive, and excited to grow in merchandising, sales, or product.
- Experience in sales support, merchandising, order management, or customer relationship management.
- Retail‑side experience (buying, planning, allocation, merchandising, or store‑level analytics) is strongly encouraged.
- Strong understanding of merchandising principles, inventory management, and fashion market trends.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in trend research and market analysis.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of apparel design concepts, product development, and production processes.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); apparel or ERP systems a plus.
- Fashion industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
