Front End Teammate

Provide excellent guest service with hospitality and prompt, accurate, and efficient service.

• Mobility: lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently; perform walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching; unload guest purchases; pick up items from floor, case, shelf, cart; attain merchandise on top of grocery shelves (~84 inches from the floor) and at the check‑lane, cart, and cleaning equipment; bring shopping carts into the store from the parking lot (no more than five at a time);
  
  grasp and handle wet, cold, and hot grocery merchandise; use the intercom system; identify and understand cash, labels, signs, tags, ads, checks, WIC vouchers, numbers, and cash register keys;
• Work Environment: indoors with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity caused by opening store entrance doors; stand on tile or concrete for the duration of shift.

• Required:
  • Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with ability to count and verify guest change;
  • Understanding of checks, WIC vouchers, credit or debit, and EBT transactions;
  • Ability to give and receive complex verbal instructions or descriptions concerning store policy and procedures and use of equipment;
  • Reading and writing English; ability to read instructions, labels, printed paper and forms;
  • Ability to make appropriate judgments concerning guests and the checkout of purchases;
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Preferred:
  • Prior experience in a related type of job or industry;
  • Stable work and educational history;
  • Prior experience operating a cash register, scale and/or intercom.
