Cashier

Provide excellent guest service with hospitality and prompt, accurate, and efficient service.

• Perform cash handling, scanning, bagging, and customer transactions.
• Maintain accurate and timely service while following store policies.
• Use computer systems and intercom for transaction processing.
• Assist customers with payments, vouchers, and questions.
• Ensure checkout area and equipment are clean and stocked.

• Lift up to approximately 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach repeatedly for long periods.
• Unload purchases from carts and move merchandise to the top of grocery shelves (~84 inches).
• Handle wet, cold, or hot merchandise safely.
• Operate intercom system and use cash register keys.

In‑store work with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity due to opening of store entrance doors. Standing on tile or concrete for the duration of shift.

• Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Count and verify cash change.
• Understanding of checks, WIC vouchers, EBT, and credit/debit transactions.
• Ability to give and receive complex verbal instructions.
• Reading and writing in English; understand instructions, labels, printed forms.
• Make appropriate judgments concerning guests and checkout processes.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.

• Prior experience in a related job or industry.
• Stable work and educational history.
• Experience operating cash register, scale, and/or intercom.

The teammate will not use drugs, alcohol, or create a direct threat to the health and safety of others on the job.
