Overview
Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional, to work in the golf shop providing excellent customer service at all times, giving advice and selling products and services, assisting in the junior golf programing, proactively promoting and merchandising the stock, stock control and where required, assisting with the ordering of stock and services. Organize and deliver coaching for individuals and groups, assist in organizing and running competitions.

Experience:
- Strong product knowledge.
- Current First aid certificate.
- Knowledge of Rules of Golf and Tournament Organization.
- Retail experience, including selling, stock control and visual merchandising.
- IT literate with experience of relevant software applications (PC and/or Mac), computerized POS and tee time system, extending to usage of motion analysis systems and launch monitors.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

The following are the duties that the Assistant Golf Professional will carry out under the direction of the Head Golf Professional in accordance with the Hacienda Employee Handbook.
Operations- To carry out opening and closing procedures following standard operative expectation for POS reconciliation, site security, etc.
- To welcome members and guests, collect fees and process charges in line with club expectations, including shop purchases and guest fees.
- To be a good steward assuring guests are welcomed according to their member expectations including name on guest locker, introduction to the facility, etc.
- To assist in organizing and running tournaments, and other events, to help make them a success, in line with club expectations.
- To create and manage junior golf programs as well as coach the Hacienda PGA Jr. League team.
- To organize and control the practice facilities ensuring that members and guests can practice according to the expectations laid down by the Head Golf Professional.
- To organize and control all relevant club equipment rentals.
- To organize and deliver effective coaching for individuals and groups, ensuring that participants' needs are identified, coaching sessions are planned and delivered to develop participants' performance and effectiveness of sessions is evaluated and reviewed.
- To grow the Hacienda Golf Club Junior Golf Program.
- To assist the daily operation of the golf shop under the direction of the Head Professional.
- To offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to meet member and guest requirements.
- To ensure that the golf shop is clean, orderly, well-stocked and professionally presented at all times.
- To monitor and regularly update sales display areas, including window displays and merchandise hot spots.
- To assist in organizing promotions to stimulate golf shop sales.
- To stay up with current trends and trajectories of the golf industry as it pertains to both soft and hard goods.
- To assist with stock control and ordering, pricing and bar-coding.
- To follow all established shop procedures, including those for payment processing, handling, member complaints, opening and closing, Health and Safety, Security, etc.
