Lead meaningful fieldwork and drive environmental compliance across Southern California
A well-established environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Biologist to support a variety of energy and infrastructure projects across Southern California, particularly in the San Diego region. This hybrid role offers a rewarding balance of fieldwork, team leadership, technical writing, and regulatory support — with a focus on botany, rare plant surveys, and vegetation mapping.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and conduct biological field surveys, including rare plant surveys, vegetation mapping, and habitat assessments
- Provide biological monitoring and environmental compliance during construction
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, CEQA/NEPA documentation, and permit applications
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to align biological deliverables with project milestones
- Guide junior staff, oversee field teams, and manage schedules and budgets
- Support strategy development for environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in biology, ecology, botany, or related field
- 7- 15 years of field biology experience in Southern California, with emphasis in botany
- Familiarity with CDFW survey protocols, the Jepson Manual, and local flora
- Experience preparing permits such as Section 404, Section 401, Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements, and Endangered Species Act documentation
