Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Biologist to study the basic principles of plant life and examine the effects of varying environmental and physical conditions. The role involves working with row crops such as canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans in greenhouse and growth chamber settings. The Biologist will perform a variety of tasks under general supervision, requiring creativity and judgment to accomplish goals.
Responsibilities- Study the basic principles of plant life and their environmental and physical conditions.
- Work with row crops like canola, corn, cotton, and soybeans in greenhouse and growth chamber settings.
- Perform tasks such as sowing, plant care, discarding, cleaning, transplanting, harvesting, and seed processing.
- Plan and accomplish goals using limited experience and judgment.
- Stand for long periods and work in elevated temperatures, especially in warmer months.
- Participate in rotational weekend work as required.
- Experience in controlled environments and plant growth.
- Familiarity with greenhouse operations, plant science, and horticulture.
Skills & Qualifications
- Commercial greenhouse experience is preferred.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in agronomy, biology, horticulture, or other life sciences.
The position involves working in greenhouses and growth chambers where elevated temperatures are common during warmer months. The role requires standing for long periods and participating in rotational weekend work. The Biologist will work under general supervision and report to a supervisor or manager, allowing for a degree of creativity and latitude.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
