Hours of Operation- Day shift:
Mon‑Fri; 0700‑1600 - Swing Shift: Mon‑Fri; 1500‑2400
- Mid Shift: Sun‑Thurs; 2300‑0800
- Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
- Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations on the supported airframe.
- Performs, supervises, and inspects the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs.
- Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, components, and engines, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition.
- Interprets technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to solve complex problems.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
- Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and non-complex electrical systems.
- Familiar with unique tools: test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and shears.
- Provides technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers, prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
- Logs entries in aircraft logs, provides guidance, and oversees lower‑level technicians during modifications and maintenance.
- Disassembles, repairs, rebuilds, modifies, tests, troubleshoots, and installs complex fuel systems.
- Diagnoses operational failures, determines extent of repairs, and decides whether to rework or replace faulty components.
- Adjusts and sets systems to meet performance requirements and specified operating conditions.
- Sets up and operates test stands and required test equipment in accordance with technical data.
- Uses precision test equipment for operational checks and isolation of malfunctions.
- Performs inspection, repair, and maintenance of fuel systems.
- Determines whether to rework or replace parts exceeding wear thresholds.
- Follows diagrams, instructions, and test procedures accurately.
- Minimum of 2 years on platform preferred, and/or 3 years in AMIII career field.
- Authorized to clear Red X primary system and accomplish in-progress inspections (IPI) primary system.
- Authorized to remove warning/danger tags and sign condition tags.
- 6 of 6 personnel authorized to verify Not Repairable This Station (NRTS).
- 1 of 6 personnel authorized tow vehicle operator.
