Seasonal Tractor Operator

Seasonal Tractor Operator – U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, Republic, MO.

Base pay range: $24.41/hr.

The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a Tractor Operator for the unit, operating and maintaining park‑owned light‑duty motor vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.

• Operate motor vehicles and equipment required for park duties.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and minor repairs to equipment.
• Follow and interpret written and verbal instructions.
• Operate a park‑owned light‑duty motor vehicle and equipment safely.
• Demonstrate reliability and dependability as a tractor operator.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Selective Service registration required for male applicants.
• Valid driver's license required; submit Motor Vehicle Operator's License and driving record.
• Uniform required; a uniform allowance will be provided.
• Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old or 16 years old with high‑school completed or qualifying program.
• No housing available.

• Ability to perform job duties without more than normal supervision (screen out).
• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to interpret instructions and specifications related to mobile equipment.
• Ability to operate safe non‑motor vehicles.
• Reliability and dependability as a tractor operator.
• Work practices, including keeping work area neat and clean.
