Mechanic Diesel Technician

Join us as a Mechanic Diesel Technician at Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Maryland Heights, MO. This permanent full‑time position supports our truck fleet and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Position Details

• Hourly Pay: $33.38 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
• Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours:
  
  Second shift, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
• Two or more years of classroom training and/or work experience
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Additional requirements for driving Ryder vehicles:

• Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

• Perform vehicle maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance
• Conduct component inspections and repairs
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer as needed
• Identify root cause of basic failures and perform required repairs
• Replace defective components per instructions
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Support other duties as required, e.g., service island support
