DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Under immediate supervision, and is responsible for work of routine nature in performing manual labor in all weather conditions. Primarily performs manual tasks involving the maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of water meters, registers, lenses, and water valves. Other job functions can include the cleaning and repairing of water meter boxes, meter box covers, and any other duty assigned by an immediate supervisor.

May serve as relief truck driver of light to medium trucks and under certain circumstances, may be required to read meters, or perform other job duties, as assigned by a supervisor.

Must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license. A CDL is preferred.

REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Some knowledge of standard hand tools is required. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral instructions. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects. No previous training or experience is required. Physical stamina, manual dexterity, eye-hand foot coordination, and the ability and willingness to follow instructions are a must.
