Your Impact
Are you a skilled and highly motivated Generator Technician who wants to learn and grow in a fast-paced, challenging job in the Telecom industry? Pearce has a career for you. Our Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in your region. This role suits independent, self-starters who are willing to travel.
Responsibilities- Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
- Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness; reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
- Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms; be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly to assigned phone and email
- Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards connected with installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and related equipment; use safety equipment and participate in designated safety and training meetings
Note: Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience- Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
Safety is Pearce’s number one concern. Candidates must comply with OSHA Standards.
- This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods
- Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
- Willingness and ability to drive long distances, work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; 24-hour on-call duty when assigned
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Base Pay Range: $30—$40 USD
