Maintenance - General Maintenance

TITLE:
General Maintenance – Plant Department Scale: G/M

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To perform maintenance duties and general repairs as assigned by the Director of Operations and Maintenance

DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO:

Director of Operations and Maintenance

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The General Maintenance employee is responsible for the following:

1. Electrical repairs, switches, outlets and ballasts.

2. Plumbing repairs to faucets, flush valves, braze copper and general repairs.

3. Tile repair and replacement, vinyl, quarry and ceramics.

4. Replacement and repair to acoustic ceilings.

5. Drywall repairs and patching, including taping and painting.

6. Door repairs including closers, panic hardware and student lockers.

7. Glass cutting and installation; plate glass and installation.

8. Lock replacement and repair.

9. Welding repairs to equipment and materials.

10. Window treatment repairs, shades, blinds and draperies.

11. Basic carpentry repairs.

12. General repairs and maintenance related to upkeep of building.

13. Inspection and repair on all types of roofing, EPDM, built up, and modified shingles.

14. Snow removal/Plow snow.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.

NOTE: All Operations and Maintenance positions are physically demanding and require the ability to lift up to 100 lbs., work off of ladders and scaffold, work in confined areas with frequent stretching, twisting, and bending. Specific job categories may be more strenuous and may require different physical abilities, but all jobs incorporate the above requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.Have the ability to complete repairs to equipment as shown above.

2.Have good attendance and work record.

3.Have good driving record and ability to operate medium duty truck.

4.Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
