Excavation Laborer

Base Pay Range

$50,000 – $60,000 per year

Founded in 1935, Roto-Rooter is North America's largest plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services provider, operating over 100 company-owned branches, independent contractor territories, and roughly 400 independent franchise operations, serving about 90% of the U.S. population and parts of Canada. We offer an exciting opportunity for an Excavation Technician in our St. Louis branch in Hazelwood, MO. The role focuses on performing residential and commercial excavations to resolve plumbing issues caused by damaged or broken lines.

• Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to OSHA and Roto-Rooter safety protocols.
• Interact with customers as needed.
• Perform excavation tasks followed by pipe repairs or new pipe installations.
• Operate back‑hoe, mini‑excavator, skid steer, or other machinery equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets.
• Work in confined spaces and open trenches.
• Arrive at job sites on time and safely drive the service vehicle between sites.

• Hands‑on experience in excavation projects for residential and commercial construction settings.
• Valid driver's license, and a commercial driver's license if required for the vehicle driven.
• Proficiency in navigating excavation environments, including confined spaces and trench operations.
• Ability to complete jobs within specified timelines.
• Current CDL or ability to obtain one within 90 days if necessary.
• Experience with trenchless water, sewer, and gas work is a plus.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
