The primary purpose of this position is to perform the most simple and routine work involved in the basic maintenance and repair of grounds, walkways, exterior structures, campgrounds, buildings, and related utilities. Duties include custodial worker and laborer tasks as well as trade practices associated with masonry, carpentry, gardening, plumbing, roofing, painting, and other trade work.

Requirements- U.S. citizenship required.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Direct Deposit Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- Driver's license required and must submit Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
- Uniform required; a uniform allowance will be provided.
- Minimum age: 18 years or 16 years with high-school graduation or equivalent.
- Ability to perform the work with normal supervision.
- Ability to interpret instructions and read blueprints.
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, and repair.
- Knowledge of relevant materials.
- Technical practices knowledge.
- Use of measuring instruments.
- Perform entry‑level carpentry repairs such as replacing broken planks, repairing siding, reapplying molding, installing shelving, and repairing small wooden structures.
- Assist with removing structures using hand and power tools.
- Perform simple operational maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Replace toilets and install soap/dispenser fixtures.
- Assist in planting and tending vegetation.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and perform touch‑up painting.
- Inspect, maintain, and replace light bulbs in various fixtures.
- Perform elementary patch work on small holes in buildings or walls.
- Assist in roof maintenance and apply new roofing materials.
- Operate lawn mowers and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Perform custodial services and related labor tasks.
The incumbent may lift, carry, and handle tools, parts, equipment, and materials weighing up to or over 50 pounds unassisted. Work includes standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and climbing, and operating standard hand and power tools.
Working ConditionsWork is performed both inside and outside, subject to all weather conditions. Conditions may be dusty, greasy, noisy, and may involve exposure to fumes, electric shock, bruises, burns, scrapes, and cuts. Safety practices and protective equipment are required.
