Job Summary

Assists Parent Involvement coordinator in the planning of the Parent Involvement Volunteer Services action plan:
Assists in recruiting, orienting and encouraging parents to participate in the Head Start Program;
Assists in making arrangements for parent meetings,training workshops and special activities. This is an on-site position. It is not a remote position. Will primarily work in an office setting and in the field and will require driving/travel.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Two years (2) experience working with community services.
  • Ability to work with an ethnically and linguistically diverse population.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to give and take simple instructions and attend to the needs of others.
  • English and Spanish fluency REQUIRED, (both oral and written skills).
Special Qualifications
  • Must complete AB 1207 California Childcare Providers:
    Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire, renewed every two (2) years.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance.
  • Must provide vaccination records for Pertussis (Tdap), Measles (MMR) and Influenza (optional).
  • Will be finger printed and must clear through DOJ and FBI.
  • Must possess own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and at minimum, general liability automobile insurance.
  • Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
