Job Overview:
The role is a remote Software Engineer position within the Traffic Ingress team responsible for handling all incoming traffic at the software level. The engineer will work primarily on coding and executing well‑defined projects, focusing on traffic routing, proxy technologies and reliability. The position is not a leadership or full‑architectural role but may contribute ideas to design discussions.

Base pay range: $71.00/hr - $82.00/hr

Duration: 6 months

• Develop and maintain traffic routing and proxy solutions.
• Participate in well‑defined projects delivering high‑quality code.
• Work on reliability tasks ensuring code changes do not cause service incidents.
• Take a spec/project and deliver results independently with high attention to detail.

  C++ (primary), Rust (optional/plus).
• Traffic Management & Proxy
  
  Experience:
  
  core to ATS, Envoy (migrating from ATS to Envoy).
• Optional: HAProxy, Cloudflare, general L4/L7 proxy understanding.
• Experience with high‑traffic systems (millions of QPS) is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Mindset of a reliability engineer.

• Contribution to open‑source projects related to routing/proxy technologies.
• Experience with service migrations (ATS → Envoy).
• Understanding of large‑scale distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills for team collaboration.
• Optional familiarity with machine learning platforms is not necessary.
