Simple AI makes super realistic voice AI powered agents. We help all kinds of big businesses handle their phone operations, from customer support and order intake at e-commerce stores, to lead qualification for insurance brokers. We are growing like crazy (doubling MoM in revenue) and looking to hire our first 1-2 founding software engineers to help us both stay afloat of current customer demand, and help build out systems that will stay ahead of future problems.

Based in San Francisco, Simple AI is backed by Y Combinator, top VCs, and angels like Michael Seibel (co-founder of Twitch), Jared Friedman (Scribd), Alexandr Wang (Scale AI), Matt Van Horn (June Oven and Lyft), Suhail Doshi (Mixpanel), JJ Fliegelman (Way Up) and Scott Wu (Cognition).

We have a tiny, talented team of 3. The founders (Catheryn and Zach) met while each running software teams at YC, where they shipped tons of new products for YC founders, including YC’s co-founder matching site. Cat previously worked at Instagram and Facebook and earned degrees in math and computer science h previously studied computer science and statistics at UChicago and led software at Evil Geniuses.

We're looking to hire a versatile full-stack engineer to join us in-person at our SF office as our second hire and founding engineer. This is your chance to work at the forefront of voice AI technology with a massive market opportunity.

You’ll work on developing, evaluating, and deploying state-of-the-art LLM and voice systems that push the limits of conversational AI. You’ll also help implement our solutions for big customers.

As a founding engineer, you should be self-motivated and passionate about joining an early-stage startup tackling a massive market. We’re looking for people who want to have large ownership and work closely with customers to build products they'll love.

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for addressing technical challenges.
• A customer-first mindset with strong communication skills and interest in product design and prioritization.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Passion about learning and keeping up with latest AI advancements.

• Previous experience with prompt engineering or working with AI/LLM-based platforms.
• Experience as an early-stage startup engineer or founder.
• Experience with Type Script, React, Python, Ruby on Rails, Postgre
  
  SQL, AWS.
