Software Engineer; Full Stack

About the Role

Apten is an omni-channel AI agent that automates sales and marketing conversations with millions of leads across SMS, voice, and email.

Apten communicates exactly like a human — dynamically switching between channels, personalizing every follow-up, and proactively using tools (CRMs, schedulers, lead systems) in-conversation.

In the last 6 months, we’ve become profitable, averaged over 30% MoM growth, and partnered with enterprise customers in industries like healthcare, education, and home services.

We’re now scaling rapidly and looking for our second full stack software engineer to join us. You’ll work directly with the founding team to build core product experiences and infrastructure — from high-throughput message pipelines to voice bots, workflow builders, context management systems, AI-driven orchestration, and self-improvement systems.

This is an opportunity to own critical systems and shape the product and culture from the ground up.

• Own and ship core features across the stack — from React frontends to AWS-based APIs, Lambdas, and microservices
• Work directly with enterprises
• Build scalable infra for messaging, AI inference, and automation at high volume
• Experimental work - turn Apten into a self-improving, high-performance sales/marketing agent. 100% ownership, 0 bureaucracy

• Curiosity and drive to figure things out — whether debugging a scaling issue or building something completely new
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software (or equivalent skill)
• Experience with Type Script ,
  React
  , and AWS (Lambda, ECS, Dynamo
  
  DB, SQS, CDK, etc.)
• Strong product sense — able to make pragmatic tradeoffs, prioritize for impact, and ship fast
• Comfortable working across the stack (frontend → backend → infra)
• Previous startup or early-stage experience a plus

• Experience working with LLMs
• Experience with event-driven architectures and async workflows
• Strong interest in AI-powered automation and conversational systems
