** VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is an infrastructure platform for running modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, in the private cloud. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services to deliver a consistent, simplified customer experience.

The operations and management engineering team in the VCF Business Unit (BU) is an exciting and fast-paced organization that is leading the charge of simplification of operations and management across enterprise private cloud environments. We have ambitious goals to expand our management capabilities to support the latest application architectures and deployment systems, such as Kubernetes. This will enable simplified, unified management and operations of these systems, allowing customers to focus on the business decisions needed to optimize operational costs.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the robustness, reliability, and efficiency of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations and Management. This role is part of our strategic initiative to upgrade the team's skills.

Key Responsibilities:

* Quality Assurance Leadership:
* Led the development and implementation of rigorous testing protocols, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
* Ensured all software releases met stringent quality and reliability standards.
* Design and implement AI-assisted frameworks for intelligent test generation, failure classification, and regression suite optimization.
* Complexity Management:
* Managed operational complexity within the VCF Operations and Management layer arising from new features, integrations, and increased scale.
* Develop, implement, and enforce engineering best practices on scalability and maintainability.
* Proactive Issue Identification:
* Identify potential issues before they escalate, analyze root cause, and implement preventive measures.
* You can integrate lessons learned into future projects to avoid recurring issues.
* Analyze test data, logs, and coverage trends to train and evaluate ML models for prediction and prioritization tasks.

Leadership and Mentorship:

Offer technical guidance, leadership, and mentorship to QA and development. Drive a culture focused on continuous improvement and the pursuit of quality excellence.

Stakeholder

Collaboration:

Work closely with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to ensure the delivery of high-quality results.  Maintain and enhance VCF solutions' reputation through consistent quality assurance and control.

Education and Experience:

* Either a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, or a Master’s degree, plus 6+ years of experience in quality engineering.
* Technical

Skills:

* Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and software development methodologies.
* Proficiency in designing and implementing automation frameworks using tools like Selenium and Playwright.
* Genuine interest in and basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (ML) concepts, and the ML lifecycle.
* Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and maintainability best practices.
* In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere.
* Experience in private cloud operations.
* Proficiency in Java and related frameworks.
