Medtronic is a world leader in providing health care products that restore health and extend life. The Medtronic Mini Med R&D team contributes directly to this mission; we deliver software and firmware for the Mini Med pump and continuous glucose monitoring devices.
We are looking for a talented Sr Software Test Engineer to join our organization as we develop safety critical software for medical devices that hundreds of thousands of people around the world depend on daily. You will work with a world-class team to meet users’ needs by developing innovative solutions and bringing them to market and will directly contribute to Medtronic’s mission to Alleviate Pain, Restore Health, and Extend Life.
In this role you will be working with fast-paced cross-functional teams to test embedded software for our insulin pump devices. We’re looking for someone with knowledge in manual and automation testing of Embedded devices to help us transform diabetes care around the world.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. ** This role requires you to work on-site at our Northridge, CA office at least 3 days per week.
** This on-site presence is vital for collaboration and maintaining strong team connections. Please be aware that the hybrid schedule may change based on business needs, potentially requiring additional on-site days.

Responsibilities may include the following :
* Implement a robust test strategy to provide early and continuous feedback of product quality.
* Develop test cases to cover requirements for new features and run them manually.
* Write library functions and test scripts to automate the test cases in JavaScript.
* Read, analyze, understand requirements and provide feedback.
* Keep abreast of technical and industry trends related to software verification.
* Provide leadership to Engineers across multiple sites, consisting of employees and contract personnel.
* Participate and contribute to product code and design reviews.
* Provide concise, timely, and accurate status reports of all verification activities.
* Identify, analyze and solve technical problems with minimal support from others.
* Follow standards defined by the Food and Drug Administration for the medical device industry.

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of professional experience in software development and/or software test or Masters Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of professional experience in software development and/or software test
