What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, and test high‑quality software systems using Python or Kotlin.
Support product development lifecycle by collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Identify project, process, technology or business issues and drive solutions for issues.
Set and maintain code review and design standards for the team.
Independently identify the right solutions to solve ambiguous, open‑ended problems.
Own and deliver projects in service of quarterly team goals.
Incorporate needs and opinions from stakeholders, advocating for ideas and initiatives.
Provide guidance on core application architectural decisions and lead implementation.
Define and deliver well‑scoped milestones for projects, technical specifications, and act as technical lead.
Engineer and integrate affirm’s systems with third‑party service solutions such as AWS.
Provide support on software systems and tooling built around the app.
Debug code issues utilizing data and stack trace analysis.
Actively level up less‑experienced members of the team by mentoring and setting a good example.
May telecommute.
What We Look For:Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and at least 3 years of experience in the following:
- Software application development including Python or Kotlin.
- OLTP and OLAP databases including SQL, No
SQL and relational databases. - Architecting and maintaining complex distributed systems.
- Developing and deploying projects using control, Agile methodology or code reviews.
- AWS cloud computing resources including Amazon Aurora Postgre
SQL, AWS Lambda or SQS. - Containerization (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Utilizing modern testing frameworks to write and maintain unit, integration and functional tests.
- Debugging code issues utilizing data and stack trace analysis.
