Our client, an ambitious Silicon Valley-based startup in the generative AI space building next-generation software to boost developer productivity is adding a Full Stack Engineer to their accomplished and growing team. This person will work closely with the founding engineering team as well as the CEO and executive leadership group, taking products and new features from zero to one in a fast paced environment.
Backed by major venture capital firms, the company offers a chance to join a small, high-performing team working at the frontier of AI as well as the opportunity to shape the next stage of growth for the company.
- Design robust APIs, architect and implement cloud-based microservices to fulfil those APIs.
- Build user interfaces on top of those APIs and integrate the APIs into the UI of other products.
- Rapidly prototype ideas to meet user needs and technical feasibility, then product ionise them with well-architected, testable code.
- Practice test-driven development: build and maintain test suites and frameworks to uphold high code quality.
- Document and maintain software functionality, troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems.
- Integrate software components into a cohesive, fully-functional system and ensure the software evolves with new features and scale requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from a reputable institution (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant full-stack software development experience.
- Backend expertise: API design/implementation, ORM concepts and frameworks, database schema design, experience with databases such as Mongo
DB, Postgre
SQL, MySQL, Dynamo
DB. - Deep experience in building highly-available, scalable and performant applications.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and experience with microservices architecture and containerisation.
- Participation in or contributions to open-source projects—ideally in the AI/ML domain.
- Prior startup experience is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite ~4-5 days a week at the company’s Sunnyvale, CA office.
