Senior Test Engineer

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Local candidates highly preferred)

Rate: $62/hr

Experience: 6+ years

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI and API testing. The ideal candidate has a strong developer mindset, hands‑on experience with modern automation tools, and a background in Medical Device IT environments with regulatory compliance.

• Design and develop automation frameworks using Type Script, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Implement UI automation using Playwright and Cypress.
• Build, execute, and maintain API automation solutions for RESTful services.
• Integrate automation suites with test management tools.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to implement BDD practices using Cucumber.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to test automation best practices.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve automation scripts for reliability and performance.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain high-quality standards across releases.
• Comply with Medical Device regulatory requirements, including:
  • FDA regulations
  • ISO 13485
  • IEC 62304
• Strong proficiency in Type Script, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Hands‑on experience with Playwright and Cypress.
• Experience automating RESTful APIs.
• Strong expertise with Cucumber for BDD frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops.
• Familiarity with test management tools like Jira, Test Rail, Zephyr, or similar.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a developer mindset.
• Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Prior experience in the Medical Device IT industry, including validation, compliance, and documentation standards.
