Assistant Fitness Manager

Assist in managing the Personal Training team, conduct introductory workouts with new members, and foster member relationships while driving personal training sales and performance.

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise personal trainers.
• Manage payroll processing for personal trainers, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
• Maintain daily sales targets, especially when the General Manager is unavailable.
• Achieve month‑over‑month sales targets, drive membership growth, and exceed revenue goals for new personal training agreements and client retention.
• Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to department leaders and staff.
• Ensure all fitness staff possess required certifications (CPR, First Aid, personal trainer certifications).
• Provide constructive feedback to personal trainers on performance.
• Deliver high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to assess fitness needs.
• Guide new members through their initial club experience, promoting personal training sales and member retention.
• Supervise facilities maintenance and cleanliness, including equipment and locker rooms.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement safety protocols.

• Minimum 2 years of management experience; experience in fitness or personal training management is a plus.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience.
• 1 year of sales experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Personal training sales experience highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent relationship building and influencing skills.
• Strong attention to detail, systematic problem‑solving approach, and good time‑management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must hold a valid personal training certification.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Physical ability to bend routinely, lift over 40 lbs, and navigate a gym setting.
• Proficiency with company computer systems for data entry, document preparation, and email communication.
