Position: Extra Duty Head Girls Wrestling Coach 2025-2026
Location: Florissant

Title:
Head Coach

Qualifications: Teacher certificate preferred. Minimum of 60 college credits or 3 years of "provisional coaching" with a mentor. Longer have hardship option.

Supervises: Athletes and team assigned. Assume supervisory control over all athletes in the program when needed.

Job Goal: To carry out the aims and objectives of the sports program as outlined by the Activities Director and school administration. To instruct athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of district, state, and league regulations; implements and interprets them consistently.
  • Instructs athletes on fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques as decided by the Activities Director.
  • Provides documentation to fulfill state and district requirements concerning physical exams, parental consent, and eligibility.
  • Promotes the sport within the school by recruiting athletes not participating in sports.
  • Attends all practices, games, and travel to provide assistance, guidance, and safeguards for participants.
  • Is accountable for all equipment. Arranges for issuing and collecting equipment necessary for the sport.
  • Submits an "end of the year" report on the lower level team.
  • Assists the head coach in responsibilities.
  • Monitors student-athletes' grades and conduct.
  • Attends clinics and workshops to stay updated on current trends in the sport.
  • Maintains good public relations with booster clubs, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic administrator/principal.
