Petroleum Delivery Specialist

REPORTS TO: Energy Area Sales Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt

PAY RANGE: $16 to $18 / hour

Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Petroleum Delivery Specialist is responsible for transporting and delivering petroleum products, including fuels and lubricants, to commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in fuel transportation, possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements , and be committed to following strict safety and compliance regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operate tanker trucks and transport petroleum products to customers efficiently and safely.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Comply with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).
  Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations for hazardous materials transportation.
• Establishes and follows a structured route system in the delivery territory, ensuring timely distribution of petroleum products according to customer requirements and assigned schedules.
• Maintain professional communication with customers to confirm deliveries and address any concerns.
• Load and unload fuel while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
• Follow all fuel handling, spill prevention, and emergency response procedures.
• Report any delivery discrepancies, spills, or safety incidents to management promptly.
• Accurately records sales and delivery information on daily sales logs, invoices, and required documentation.
• Maintains a preferred prospect list and calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
• Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
• Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials to customers and prospects.
• Adheres to and supports the company credit policy, checking credit history of patron before making a sale, and explaining policy to new customers.
• Collects accounts as needed according to credit policy.
• Follows up on all customer complaints and seeks solutions in a timely manner.
• Promotes the use of FS credit / Agri-Finance as a sales tool.
• Submits required reports promptly as requested by manager and communicates activities in trade territory on a regular basis.
