Overview
The Small Package Order Picker/Packer is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. This includes picking items using RF scanners, packing orders with proper materials, processing shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role plays a vital role in ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries while upholding MTA’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and lasting relationships through legendary customer service.

Overview
The Small Package Order Picker/Packer is responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. This includes picking items using RF scanners, packing orders with proper materials, processing shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role plays a vital role in ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries while upholding MTA’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and lasting relationships through legendary customer service.
Responsibilities
- Order Picking
- Select orders using RF handheld devices based on pick tickets
- Navigate warehouse locations to scan item and location barcodes
- Accurately pick and assign items to specific totes or cones
- Retrieve and match paper ship tickets with correct picked orders
- Place completed orders on rolling conveyors for the packing team
- Order Packing/Processing
- Work from individual packing stations
- Verify item numbers and quantities against packing lists
- Select appropriate box size and use sufficient packing material
- Tape, weigh, and process shipments through MTA’s shipping software
- Generate and apply shipping labels, staging orders for carrier pickup
- Packaging Supply Stocking
- Receive and verify packaging materials against vendor packing slips
- Put away boxes, tape, bags, and supplies in assigned stock locations
- Replenish packing station materials daily
- Assist in boxing individual engines from OEM multi-packs, using EPS foam, inserts, manuals, and appropriate labeling
- Support container unloading operations as needed
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with aisle cleaning assignments
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines
- Physical Ability:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; heavy lifters must be able to lift up to 100 lbs - Attention to Detail:
Accuracy in order selection and packing is critical - Basic Computer Use:
Familiarity with RF scanners and basic shipping software preferred - Team Player:
Strong communication and collaboration with warehouse staff - Safety Commitment:
Must wear safety toe shoes/boots and adhere to safety practices
