This position provides and promotes various activities at the JVCC as well as schedules client transport and dispatches transit drivers for Palace Transit.
Major Duties- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
- Operates communication system to dispatch drivers and relay information.
- Enters client data to computerized database.
- Monitors the location of program vehicles.
- Sells tokens to clients and maintains related records.
- Prepare a variety of regular and special reports.
- Render services to program participants.
- Work with other departments to coordinate effective use of resources.
- Maintains files and records.
- Assist with Adult Nutrition.
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Skills and abilities
typically associated with a high school degree or similar experience; understanding of the aging process and emotional, social, and health concerns of patrons.
Experience in leading activities, teaching, or coordinating events helpful.
