Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and experience responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating impact on student growth.
SC3 Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
SC4 Interpersonal and communication skills and experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader community to support learning, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5 Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and experience reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve learning. Range 2 teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance, supporting professional learning and mentoring peer teachers.
Responsibilities- Direct teaching of student groups and individual students.
- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs.
- Undertaking classroom teaching duties determined by the Principal.
- Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
- Undertaking other non‑teaching supervisory duties.
Teachers registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach or who have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area.
