A Brief Overview

Performs repairs, preventive maintenance, and major component overhaul on the facility structure, equipment and grounds, and fixtures to include refrigeration and air conditioning systems, electrical and plumbing, mechanical systems, boilers and chillers. Responsible for the operation, testing, and inspection of boilers and equipment in the facility complex.

What you will do
  • Performs building inspections, replacing parts, cleaning, and overseeing heating and plumbing, outdoor grounds & landscaping, and snow & ice removal all which insures a safe facility environment.
  • Troubleshoots potential problems and performs maintenance work for the facility including but not limited to temperature controls, boiler operations, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Responsible for monitoring, operating, inspecting, repairing, testing, and cleaning all equipment and related activities that bring steam or chilled water to air handling systems, sterilizers, etc.
  • Tasks are performed in accordance with facility policies and procedures, OSHA regulations, and regulatory agency requirements, and the use of manufacturer's instruction manuals.
  • Performs and manages preventative maintenance program of facility building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Verifies PM completion rates and inspects logs and records of servicing according to PM program and completion rate goals. Keeps work areas neat and orderly.
  • Responds to facility emergency codes and demonstrates sound understanding of emergency protocols. Assists with, conducts, and documents drills such as fire, emergency weather, etc., participates in safety inspections and lock down procedures. Informs leadership of safety concerns and makes recommendations regarding facility safety issues. Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety policies and procedures.
  • Remove equipment, trash and hazardous waste according to local, state, federal, and OSHA guidelines. May be responsible for recyclable materials and disposal of confidential documents. Inspects and maintains records of all state and OSHA regulations as well as medical waste records.
  • May be assigned other tasks within scope of responsibility such as monitoring maintenance costs and budget control, patient transports, inventory, parts ordering, statistical data reporting, and other basic maintenance requests.
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge, competency, and certification required by leadership to perform the specialized skills necessary.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • High School or GED Equivalent 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Drivers License - Licensing Board
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience
  • Boiler Operator - Licensing Board Boiler Operator licensure Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years previous experience in a technical specialty such as electrical, plumbing, or mechanical
