Connoisseur Media is looking for an Engineer to support our radio stations in Moberly, Missouri. The ideal candidate must have a broad and deep knowledge of radio broadcasting technical systems and equipment to ensure reliable, high-quality audio transmission and knowledge of FCC regulations. The candidate should work well under pressure, create solutions, and be resourceful and diligent. They must be driven, able to multitask, balance priorities, take direction, possess excellent communication skills, and enjoy a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
The position requires individuals who can interact productively with vendors and non-technical co-workers.
- Compliance with FCC regulations and station policies regarding broadcasting standards.
- Maintenance of safety protocols in all engineering practices.
- Inspection and maintenance on a regular basis of broadcasting equipment, including transmitters, audio consoles, and studio gear. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on all technical systems.
- Monitoring of audio quality and signal strength during radio broadcasts and the ability to quickly troubleshoot as needed.
- Under the direction of Corporate IT, complete all necessary procedures and paperwork relating to the market computer systems’ needs.
- Overseeing the installation of new equipment and technologies. Including the planning and implementation of upgrades to existing systems.
- Clear, professional, and productive communication with employees who do not have a technical or programming background.
- Development of clear instructions relating to simple tasks for non-technical employees to understand and perform.
- Maintaining accurate equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and technical schematics. This includes the preparation of reports relating to technical issues and solutions as they arise.
- A minimum of two years of radio broadcasting engineering experience.
- Knowledge of FCC Regulations.
- This position requires a fully insured personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- The candidate is required to provide a safe driving record covering the past three years.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to develop collaborative relationships with market staff so that market staff can help troubleshoot effectively when an engineer is off-site.
- Available to be on call for emergencies and be proactive about coverage when unavailable.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with vendors as needed.
- The role requires an enthusiastic and hardworking person who exudes positivity in their interactions with others.
- Ability to lift and/or move loads up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated surfaces.
- Must be able to relocate to the Moberly, MO area.
