Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse)
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Senior Behavioral Health or psychiatric nursing within an acute care hospital (within the last year)
• BLS certification required
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide psychiatric nursing care for assigned patients
• Develop, implement, and document individualized patient care plans in accordance with hospital policies
• Assist physicians during psychiatric evaluations and medical procedures
• Perform patient tests and administer medications within the RN scope of practice
• Educate patients and families on behavioral health conditions, medications, and self-care skills
• Collaborate with nursing peers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain knowledge of standard nursing concepts, practices, and procedures
