Construction (QA) Inspector - Tyndall AFB

Job LocationPanama City, FL (Tyndall AFB)
SalaryBase pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr
Salary will be discussed with manager in interview based on experience.
Requirements- Must be a U.S. Citizen and must pass a Federal Background Review and drug screen.
- Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods.
- Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specifications relative to all phases of construction.
- Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three‑phase inspection process.
- Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
- Deliver and review change orders, modifications, RFIs and submittals.
- Monitor contractor’s schedule.
- Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment.
- Verify accuracy of as‑built drawings.
- Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
- Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
- High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction–related degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience large complex multimillion‑dollar federal projects, Department of Defense preferred.
- Experience with a wide range of trades including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction.
- Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) experience preferred.
- Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred.
- Experience with the three‑phase inspection process.
- Experience with OSHA and EM 385‑1‑1 USACE Safety Manual preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency and effective communications skills in English, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of building and construction crafts to ensure required level of workmanship.
- Capability to read contract drawings and specifications.
- Professional presentation and excellent communication skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable.
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
