Project Manager – Division 8 (Doors, Frames, and Hardware)A privately held distribution, construction, and service organization is seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager
. This organization offers a complete range of doors, door hardware, and related products, serving commercial, education, healthcare, institutional, and industrial construction markets.
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with established project standards.
Experience with industry-specific software, including Comsense
, is required.
- Analyze construction schedules and develop schedules for submittals, material procurement, field labor durations, and overall project completion.
- Create submittals for doors, frames, and hardware from architectural drawings and specifications.
- Order materials through approved submittals to ensure timely delivery in accordance with construction schedules or contractor agreements for billed and stored materials.
- Conduct field visits and walk active projects.
- Create Schedules of Values for pay applications and submit to the General Contractor.
- Manage electronic contractual changes including RFIs, pricing changes, and change orders.
- Prepare and price project changes as required.
- High School Diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the construction or building materials industry.
- Experience using Comsense preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Proficiency in blueprint and plan reading and specification interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail with a deadline-driven and goal-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Accurate mathematical and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of industry-related software including Comsense, Microsoft Outlook, Office, Excel, Teams, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of door, frame, and hardware applications related to UL listings, fire codes, building codes, ADA requirements, life safety, and other commercial construction regulations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and positive interpersonal abilities.
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and regularly utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required.
